Life After the Newbie Zones

Time to head to one of my favorite LootRunning Zones:  Wailing Caves.

The Wailing Caves is one of the best choices for LootRunning from 21-24.  You can start a little earlier, but you will really find it tough.  At 22 all the named mobs are green and can be defeated solo, but not by all classes.  Excellent gear is necessary, but if you've been LootRunning the Tier 1 zones, then you should be rolling in Platinum!

Zone into The Wailing Caves from The Commonlands.  Even if you are a goodie class, it's worth the trip to come.  You could do BlackBurrow, or the beginning of Stormhold, but Wailing Caves is the place to be.

#1 Soulspike Level 15 ^^ spider at the end of the passage.  Easiest named mob in the zone.

#2 Druhdak Shin'Ree.  Level 15^^^ Orc skeleton.  Can spawn in 2 different spots in the pit.  Be careful on the path into pit, very narrow in spots.  You can usually spot Druhdak from the top if you creep up to the edge and look down.

#3 Weaponsmith Brothek.  Level 16^^^ named orc spawns in this room.  He uses a throwback ability and his buddies like to taunt you off of him.

#4 Advisor Kre'lak.  Level 16^^^ named orc at the end of the room.  There are 2 groups in this room.  You can kill the first group on the stairs without aggroing Kre'lak if you like.  If you bypass the 1st group you can fight behind the throne and not aggro the 2nd group if you are careful.  Kre'lak is pretty easy to kill, but take him out fast - he likes to suck all your power.  Killing Kre'lak opens the door behind the throne.  There is no placeholder for Kre'lak, either he's up - or has been recently killed.  Spawn time is around 1 hour.

#5 Punisher Kharg.  Level 16 ^^^ named orc spawns at the back of the jail area.  You can fight at the back of the room without clearing the front if you are careful.

#6 Mess Sergeant Slogg.  Level 16^^^ named orc, always hanging out near a slab of yummy looking meat.  Either he is up, or not - there is no placeholder to clear.

#7 Raid Chief Kreghan.  Level 17^^^ named orc can spawn in this room.  Be careful with AOE attacks, you don't want to pull the orcs in the hallways or Kyllik in the next room.  You can use AOE's, just try to be near center of room.

#8 Kyllik the Fated.  Tough level 17^^^.  If you have a way of separating him from his friends - use it.  Most classes at level 22 will have trouble, but it can be done.

#9 The Spirit of General Zherg.  Level 17^^^.  He spawns up on the ceiling.  Look directly above the bridge.  Placeholders are in the pit.

#10 Lord Ree.  Level 18^^^.  Very difficult because he is the 3rd wave of the encounter.  The first wave is easy, then comes Ghi'Zard the Worg Master, after Ghi'Zard dies, you will face Lord Ree and friends.  Feign death, mesmerize, root, are all great options to buy some time for regen of health and power.  It's tricky, but can be done solo.  If the door is locked you'll have to come back later, try again in an hour or 2.

The Wailing Caves is LootRun heaven.  At level 22 you can do the loop starting at Soulspike and kill everything.  Then end at Soulspike and either do it all over again or run out to the nearby Griffin Tower to mail your loot.  Kyllik, Slogg, Ree, and Kre'lak do not have placeholders.  Either they are up, or not.  It seems most of them respawn every hour.
