Ruins of Varsoon Guide

Great for level 35-43 LootRunning.

Zone in from Thundering Steppes.

To ROV

RoV can have a number of LootRunners due to the excellent loot and layout.  However, it's a pretty big zone - so you should be able to stake out a run you are happy with even at busy times of the day.  Just keep in mind, don't get in the way of groups leveling up or dungeon crawling --- let them have their named mobs.  Even if the place is crammed with people you can always just run down to the Chamber of Immortality and complete the instance.

#1 The Crawler Queen.  A Regal Crawler is placeholder.  Level 26 ^^.

#2 The Varsoon Painbringer.  Spawns up the stairs near chick in cage.  Level 27^^^.

#3 A Varsoon Tormentor.  Spawns close to The Varsoon Painbringer.  One of the few rare mobs with "A" in his name.   Level 27 ^^^.

You can skip the bottom part of map 1 by jumping to the spot marked "Optional Jump" on the map.

Map 1 doesn't contain many names.  Usually lootrunning in ROV means staying near the Map 2/3 area and hitting each spot over and over.   However, Map 1 contains the lower level named mobs.  So if you aren't yet able to handle the tougher stuff deeper in, just hit mobs 1-4.

map 2

#4  Master Alchemist Pinjuma.  Level 28 ^^^.  Near books, on top of platform.

#5  Weavemaster Esh'Rax.  Level 31 ^^^.  Placeholder is a Journeyman Weaver.

#6  Tome of Life.  Level 31 ^^^.  Placeholder is a Curiously Animated Tome.

#7  Mibble Toad.  Level 30-31^^^.  Back of the room on the bottom floor.   Placeholder is a Glimmer Goblin Brute.

#8  The Crimson Butcher.  Level 32 ^^^.  Placeholder is a Mindless Cook.  You should probably kill the group before Butcher in order to avoid fighting 2 groups at once.  You can take the fireplace tunnel to Creator room if you like.

#9  Pritchett the Taster.  Level 32-33 ^^^.  Spawns at end of hall.  There are a few see-invis mobs on sides of the hall.  You can range pull and they won't aggro, but if you walk by them - they will come out of alcoves and attack.  Placeholder is a Varsoon Taster.  The hall to Pitchette is actually directly under the hall to Map 3 ----- I moved the halls a little for visual clarification.  Keep that in mind if you are using your map in RoV.

#10  The Creator.  Level 32 ^^^.  Placeholder is a Dominant Claychanter.

map 3

#11  Tempered Clay Guardian.  Level 34 ^^^.  Spawns anywhere in this room.  In fact, it's possible to clear the room and have 2 Tempered Clay Guardians spawn.

#12  Tome of Death.  Level 32 ^^^.  Placeholder is a Darkly Pulsing Tome.  If you fight near the bookshelf opposite the ToD you can AoE and fight without pulling the patrolling guardians outside both sides of the room.

#13  Forge Overseer Eid'un.  Level 34 ^^^.  A Skeletal Smith is the placeholder.  Fight exactly on the spot Forge Overseer Eid'un spawns and you will not pull adds from around the room.

Note:  14, 15, and 16 all spawn in the little pits attached to the workshops.  You must kill the "Enraged" mobs in the room to spawn the names.  The "Enraged" spawn after "a Replacement" mobs have been killed.  The replacement mobs come after the first mobs are killed - which all have different names depending on the room.

#14  Erbmys Sumyd.  Level 35 ^^^.  The first wave of mobs are call "Sumyd".  Kill them, then the "Replacements", then the "Enraged" and you have a chance to spawn Erbmys.  The waves respawn after a few minutes - it's not instant, so go clear out other areas and return.  Remember, the names always spawn in the pits attached to the workshops.  This room is the Workshop of the Summoner.

#15  Thimzem Ci'Re.  Level 35 ^^^.  The first wave of mobs are call "Ci'Re".  Kill them, then the "Replacements", then the "Enraged" and you have a chance to spawn Thimzem.  This room is the Workshop of the Enchanter.

#16  Et'Sipe Ymeresh.  Level 35 ^^^.  The first wave of mobs are call "Ymeresh".  Kill them, then the "Replacements", then the "Enraged" and you have a chance to spawn Et'Sipe.  This room is the Workshop of the Sorcerer.  This room has 2 extra mobs, careful you don't pull too much.

Chamber of Immortality

If you are tearing-up RoV then make sure you stop by the instance zone:  Chamber of Immortality.  You can do this instance once every 18 hours.  There is close to a 100% chance of getting not one, but TWO Exquisite chests everytime you complete the instance.  Some will say it's definitely 100% but I personally have seen non-Exquisite chests in this zone -- but they are very rare.

You must approach Varsoon the Undying to start the event.  Approach him then quickly retreat to the landing up the first flight of stairs to avoid having the first wave spawn and attack.  Once you are ready pull the first wave of Ethereal Doohiggies.  You must kill 3 waves of these guys.

Next comes An Ethereal Fiend.  Level 34^^^.  Kill her and you should expect to get your first Exquisite Chest.

After her, Varsoon the Undying becomes targetable.  Level 35^^^.  Has a nasty AoE.  Kill him and you have finished the instance and likely have loot from two Exquisite Chests, congrats!
